[Classweb-users] Unassigned L number in PL schedule

Probably, this is related to author:

    LCCN:  n  80161105
    hdg.:  Levy, Ian Hideo, |d 1950-

Although this author was originally publishing works of history and 
criticism as well as translations of Japanese literature, his subsequent 
career in fiction writing is more appropriately associated with the 
Heisei period (1989- ) rather than the post-WW II part of the Showa 
period.

Yet, even so, as already pointed out, the LCC schedule does have a gap 
between:

    PL867-878          Heisei period, 1989-
    ...
    PL872                 J
    PL872.5               K
    ...

As is the case with other parts of the PL schedule, a new LCC number 
between PL872 and PL872.5 may be proposable through SACO in this case.

Each time there is a need with a work newly cataloged for the local 
collection, I myself have been filing with Coop such a proposal for a new 
LCC number for PL, such as:

    Chinese literature--Individual authors and works--2001-

       PL2946.8       Linga - Lingz

       PL2972.3       Yea - Yez

    etc.
