There are many kinds of tables and they can get quite complex.  It's probably best to work with an experienced cataloger, but you can find training materials at https://www.loc.gov/catworkshop/courses/fundamentalslcc/index.html 

The "presentation slides" are a deck of 553 slides.  Table are covered starting at slide 243.
