The use of the Cutter .C2 for California under ML200.7 predates the development of the standardized Table M1 for states of the U.S. We will add a table modification under ML200.7 indicating that the .C2 should continue to be used for California under that number, rather than .C15. This modification will appear in Class Web with tomorrow's update.

Literature on music/History and criticism/By region or
country/America/North America/U.S./By region, state, etc. A-Z Table M1
lists California as C15.

Every book in LC's catalog in ML200.7.C for California is Cuttered .C2,
not .C15, including a new 2008 title, California polyphony : ethnic
voices, musical crossroads / Mina Yang.

Is the cutter for California wrong in Class Web? Or is it just being
ignored?
